SILICON VALLEY DATA FOR ALL

Silicon Valley Data for All works with health centers, programs, and coalitions to gather data on health in high-risk, disadvantaged, and under-investigated groups. We hope to facilitate an awareness on the hidden conditions around us, and transparency and equity in how we manage health information and statistics.
SVDA believes that understanding the diverse needs around us will strengthen the social fabric of communities and improve the overall well-being of those who live here.
Community Health Data
We believe that the power of data to improve community health outcomes is significant: It enables evidence-based decision-making, health monitoring, and better targeted interventions and resource allocations.
We aim to strengthen health data through partnering with advocacy organizations and patient groups to collect data and narrative evidence on the less known conditions in our communities. With this information, we develop resources and an evidence base to guide an understanding of isolated needs. We also conduct research on best practices to estimate prevalence in the presence of stigma and unclarity.

Narrative-Based Evidence
Narrative-based evidence refers to evidence that is derived from stories, personal experiences, and case studies. While narrative-based evidence is not as rigorous or statistically reliable as quantitative data, we believe that it provides a unique perspective on a local level. At SVSS, we examine how narratives can reveal health disparities and lead to better evidence-based interventions and responsiveness.
